Here It Comes: A Brighter Tomorrow for America’s Public Schools

The last few years haven’t been easy for public education. Even before the pandemic, learners reported a lack of belonging in their classrooms and a lack of relevance in their courses. Trust in public schools hit an all-time low, and issues of mental health and instructional loss continue to cast a storm cloud. As George Harrison sang, “It seems like years since it's been clear.” Across the country, however, school districts and the organizations that support them are building a brighter tomorrow. In inspiring, replicable ways, school leaders are leveraging technology and artificial intelligence, the power of human relationships, and the latest findings from the learning sciences to solve K-12 education’s most intractable problems. In this interactive workshop, we’ll hear from superintendents who are making hope the new normal, countering negative narratives, and building capacity for future-driven learning. With help from futurists, innovators, and award-winning education leaders, we’ll design a tomorrow where joyful, vibrant public schools aren’t just possible — they’re inevitable.
