We’re proud to announce a new partnership with the National Association of Black Bookstores (NAB²), founded by three-time NBA All-Star and former Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson.

Johnson’s mother, Georgia "Mother Rose" West, founded Sacramento’s Underground Books in 2003, establishing the nonprofit Black-owned bookstore as a literary hub for Oak Park, whose library had been shuttered for decades. Following her passing in December 2024, Kevin Johnson founded NAB² on Juneteenth 2025 to honor her legacy, promote literacy, amplify Black voices, and preserve Black culture while ensuring access to books for all.
With NAB² as the official ReaddIT! Bookstore vendor, every purchase made will directly support Black-owned bookstores and NAB²’s work across the country. NAB² will source and curate books from its nationwide network of 300+ Black-owned bookstores. These books will include titles by Summit speakers as well as education and technology selections by Black authors, highlighting critical voices shaping the future of learning and innovation.

Author of Good to Great and Built to Last, Jim Collins has sold more than 10 million books worldwide and shaped the modern leadership lexicon with ideas like Level 5 Leadership, BHAGs, and the Flywheel. In this special ReaddIT! conversation, Collins joins GSV’s Michael Moe and Deborah Quazzo to reflect on What to Make of a Life—his first book since 2020 and the result of a ten-year research project exploring how individuals construct meaningful lives through pivotal moments.
Named one of Forbes’ “100 Greatest Living Business Minds,” Jim brings a deep passion for learning and teaching across the social sectors, with research that uncovers timeless principles people can reliably depend on. This is a can’t-miss conversation—and the first 100 ASU+GSV Summit registrants to RSVP and attend the book talk will receive a complimentary copy of What to Make of a Life from the ReaddIT! Bookstore at the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego.
Don’t wait until you arrive in San Diego to start your ReaddIT! journey. Order your books now through the ReaddIT! Virtual Bookstore.
