Getting To and Around AIRSHOW

Traveling to the SDCC and exploring the city is easy with the many transportation options available:

  • Walkability
Downtown San Diego is very walkable, so much so that you might not need a car at all! Just steps from the SDCC, you'll find the Gaslamp Quarter—a vibrant area full of hotels, eateries, shops, and entertainment, all packed into one square mile. Plus, the waterfront Embarcadero area offers lovely bayfront walks and parks.

  • Airport
The San Diego International Airport is only a quick 10-15 minute ride from the SDCC, whether by car or shuttle. Check with your hotel to see if they offer shuttle service. Due to construction of a new Terminal 1 from June 2022 to 2024, please allow extra travel time to the airport.

  • MTS Trolley
The MTS Trolley, with two stops right at the SDCC, makes it easy to visit places like Little Italy and Old Town. For more on routes and planning your journey, visit sdmts.com.

  • Train
The Santa Fe Depot, a historic site, is just a mile away—or a short trolley ride. From there, catch an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner for a trip up the coast, or the NCTD COASTER for beautiful views on your way to beach towns like Solana Beach and Oceanside.

  • FRED: Free Ride Everywhere Downtown
A unique form of transport in San Diego is the electric, open-air vehicles called FRED (Free Ride Everywhere Downtown). This completely free service works through a mobile app and can be a great option if the pick-up times align with your schedule. Download the Ride Circuit app to request a ride. Hours of operation can be found at ridecircuit.com/fred.
