As the Chief Workforce Officer of greater:SATX, Romanita leads efforts to align education, workforce and economic development to meet the talent needs of the San Antonio region’s current and future employers. Leading the SA Works team, the workforce development arm of greater:SATX, Romanita supports the organization’s talent-driven economic development mission through key initiatives including youth work-based learning programs, equitable access to education and training, and growing, retaining and attracting talent into jobs that provide economic mobility.

Romanita’ s career spans workforce development, education policy and media relations having served as Deputy Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans and Director of Hispanic Outreach and Communications at the U.S. Department of Education with the Bush Administration. Prior to that, she was the Texas Media Director for U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas serving as Spanish spokesperson and coalition lead to Hispanic organizations.

Prior to joining greater:SATX, Romanita served as president and CEO of Fluent Strategy Group working with clients such as H-E-B, AARP  and Zero-to-Three on strategic initiatives, federal funding, public policy and multicultural marketing.

Romanita serves on the Board of the Texas A&M University – San Antonio Foundation and previously served as Commissioner for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Romanita is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.
