The AI Education Project

Ora Tanner is Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer at The AI Education Project, a national non-profit centering equity and accessibility in AI education. At AIEDU Ora designs and develops curricula using evidence-based frameworks to teach high school students about artificial intelligence, its impacts, and the future of work, especially those from communities disproportionately impacted by AI and automation. Ora previously worked as a nuclear physicist, an award-winning middle school science educator, and most recently as a doctoral researcher on NSF-funded grant projects studying game-based learning and assessment.

Ora earned both a B.S. and M.S. in physics and is working to complete a Ph.D in instructional design and technology. She has presented at academic conferences, summits, demo days, professional development trainings and spoken as an edtech expert on education panels . Ora's work has been recognized in Forbes, EdSurge, Tampa Bay Inno, CMSWire, CBS, CNBC, and she was recently listed as one of 32 Nonprofit Leaders Who Will Impact the World in 2021.
