Mimi has been with NAVWAR since 1998, beginning her career as a Network Vulnerability Consultant. In 2001, she took leave from defense work to support health providers with patient privacy as an IA consultant and HIPAA implementation expert, retuning in 2003. She has held positions in logistics, strategic management, process leadership, performance management and human resources. She is currently the Deputy of Corporate Programs at NIWC Pacific, and holds a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Psychology and a Masters in Global Business.


In her position, Mimi focuses on building partnerships with regional organizations focused on workforce initiatives, representing NAVWAR in collaborations with the San Diego Economic Development Council, the San Diego Workforce Partnership, the Cyber Center of Excellence, and the San Diego Community College District to design alternative hiring pathways for students, as well as collaborating with leadership in addressing retention challenges.


In her spare time, Mimi has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster youth, has served as President of the Academy of Business & Technology Foundation, mentored high school students, and currently sits on two non-profit boards focused on wellness and community improvements. She is also certified as an Integrative Nutrition Coach and is the founder of Kawal Wellness, a holistic health business. Her passion in helping individuals recognize their own potential has brought her to where she is today and is her mission as she continues to serve others, both at NIWC Pacific and in her personal endeavors.
