Dave Albers is the Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Strategy & Innovation for the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) in the Education Department. In that role, he is navigating FSA through an enterprise-wide modernization of its IT infrastructure as well as a complete business model transformation that is changing the way FSA delivers over $120 billion in aid to students each year while improving the customer experience for over 43 million existing customers. Over his 30-year career in the financial services industry, Dave held senior executive roles in credit, collections, risk, loss recovery, sales and marketing with banks and consumer finance companies. This broad-based experience was gained at domestic banks such as SunTrust and Barnett Bank and international banks and finance companies such as HSBC (Hong Kong Shanghai Bancorp), Household International and Altisource. He has led organizations in various stages of their life cycle including through start up, restructuring, recapitalization and mergers & acquisitions. Just prior to joining FSA in 2019, he was actively assisting clients through his consultancy, Revenue Connections, in modernizing IT infrastructure and enterprise systems including leading companies through large-scale conversions to mobile, omni-channel environments.

Mr. Albers is an honors graduate of Florida State University (B.S. in Finance and B.A. in French) and Florida Institute of Technology (MBA with an emphasis in Project Management). He is married and has two grown sons and enjoys traveling, scuba diving and snow skiing in his leisure time.
