Simmy Ziv-el has been an Executive in the Education Industry for the past 30 years. In 1991 he founded Discourse Technologies, the first technology-based classroom Formative Assessment system. The Company was acquired by Sylvan Ventures and then transitioned to ETS where he joined as Senior Director of Business Innovation focusing on new SEL products and international markets. After 12 years he joined ProExam as VP of Corporate Development in 2013. When ProExam merged with ACT in early 2017, he became VP of Business Development and ACT International. At ACT he was responsible for both the strategy and fiscal performance of ACT’s international business across all products and services and managed a global network of business development managers, in-country partners, and strategic partnerships. Simmy was the ACT Executive Sponsor for PISA 2021’s Innovative Domain Assessment on Creative Thinking and represented ACT at meetings of the OECD-PISA Governing Board. In May 2020 he joined FineTune Learning as Chief Business Development Officer. Simmy holds a BA (Honors) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and is a graduate of the Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University.
