Sean Murphy is currently a Director on the Economic Opportunity team at Walmart.org. His role involves bolstering Walmart's philanthropic efforts to create an infrastructure that fosters a skill-based workforce system, ensuring all learning counts. Some notable efforts that have benefitted from Walmart's investments under his leadership MIT, U.S. Chamber Foundation, SkillsFWD.org, and among others. Before joining Walmart.org in 2019, Mr. Murphy had extensive experience in the workforce field. He was an associate director at a workforce board in Washington state, where he managed projects targeting diverse populations such as veterans, justice-involved youth, and the homeless. He also has a background in public policy and community engagement, having worked for U.S. Senator Patty Murray and other congressional and statewide elected leaders in Washington state. Mr. Murphy has a robust educational background. He holds an General Associates degree from Highline Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Eastern Washington University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from both Queens University and Cornell University. Mr. Murphy currently lives in Rogers, Arkansas, with his dog, Kauai.
