Sarah Jane Salonga

San Diego State University

Sarah Jane Salonga is in her final semester of the prestigious MFA Musical Theatre program at San Diego State University. She has a BA in Education and BSc in Biochemistry. Sarah is a credentialed school teacher and has also taught voice, ukulele, dance, and theater to students of all ages. In addition, Sarah is a Registered Dental Hygienist and loves to apply her knowledge in dentistry and human anatomy/physiology to vocal pedagogy and singing. She’s very interested in developing new musicals and is currently writing a jukebox musical, One Past Midnight: The OPM Musical using Original Pilipino Music (OPM) from the 80s and 90s as her final thesis project. Sarah is looking forward to sharing her diverse skill set and commitment to education by fostering aspiring theatre artists. Some of her favorite recent credits include: Eve in Children of Eden, Mom/Tracy in Underground: A Musical Mashup, Olive Ostrovsky in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Melanie in lit: a new musical, Pocahontas in Disenchanted! and Anna in High Fidelity (Canadian Premiere).
