Rachel Valentino

Rachel Valentino is an education expert with 20 years of experience working across the private sector, foundations, and state and local governments. She began her career in early childhood research, studying parent-child attachment as a developmental psychologist and then working with the New York City Public Schools to devise a universal preK quality assessment metric. She then went to the National Institute for Early Education Research, where she led projects across the country and supported states with their implementation and evaluation of Pre-K expansion. After receiving her PhD in Education Policy and Child development from Stanford University, Rachel was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where she worked with a variety of education clients -  EdTech, universities, foundations, and governments - on topics including policy, strategy, and operational implementation.Rachel is currently a Senior Advisor to McKinsey and continues to work as a consultant, providing expertise in a variety of client contexts.  She also continues to support research and is in the process of leading personal projects in school building for her community. She has two dogs, a three-year old daughter, and another child on the way.
