Pep Carrera

Pep Carrera serves as CEO of Nearpod, an interactive instructional platform that merges formative assessment and dynamic media to create engaging learning experiences. Prior to Nearpod, Mr. Carrera was President of ProQuest Books, a business unit focused on delivering technology for the acquisition and use of digital content in Academic Libraries.  Mr. Carrera also served as the President of VitalSource, leading VitalSource to become the global Higher Ed leader in digital classroom content technologies, while expanding the customer base to more than 7,000 institutions and 15 million learners. Earlier in his career, Mr. Carrera served as Sr. VP of RAPP, a division of Omnicom Group Inc. that specializes in software, analytics, and database solutions for marketing departments of large enterprises.

Mr. Carrera holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and an MBA from Texas A&M University, Commerce. He is based in South Florida with his wife, son and copious pets.
