Patrick Methvin

As the son of a Houston ISD 3rd grade teacher, education has always been my passion, and I can't think of many greater levers to create a more just and equitable society. While I've worked across the educational spectrum (from Pre-K to adult continuing education), I've focused primarily on the postsecondary space, developing innovations and scaling proven practices to dramatically increase access to upward economic mobility for all students, with a specific focus on those who have not been well-served by our nation's systems and policies. I currently have the privilege of supporting a team of 60+ grant-makers in deploying the Gates Foundation's resources towards this mission of equitable economic mobility.
