Norm leads HybriU, an AI solution that empowers educators with automated lecture highlights and real-time classroom feedback, driven by big data analytics. His passion lies in steering start-ups through strategic planning, capital raising, operational optimization, and successful business exits. As Chief Executive Officer, Founder, and Board Member of Synergis Education since 2011, Norm guided the company to unparalleled success, positioning it as a leader in healthcare education program development. Under his leadership, Synergis Education achieved significant milestones, including a successful Series A and B raise, representing a diverse investor base, which included prominent entities such as University Ventures Fund, Bertelsmann SE & Co., University of Texas Investment Management Co ("UTIMCO"), and Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. Additionally, Norm orchestrated the formation of a distinguished Board of Directors comprised of industry leaders and experts, ensuring strategic guidance and oversight. One of Norm's notable accomplishments was the design and launch of an industry leading DEMSN program in collaboration with ten university partners, addressing the ongoing nursing shortage by producing highly skilled healthcare professionals. Synergis Education’s partner institutions graduated thousands of nursing students with impressive retention and first-time NCLEX pass rates. Moreover, Norm pioneered the groundbreaking EDVANTAGE™ Informed Technology platform, a comprehensive system providing real-time insights and analytics, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions, optimize marketing efforts, and enhance financial reporting accuracy. Norm’s leadership played a pivotal role in Synergis Education's financial success, achieving breakeven just twenty-four months post Series-B financing and ultimately transacting the business in early 2022. Following the acquisition, Norm remained, assisting in a seamless integration, focused on streamlined operations, eliminating redundancies, and enhancing efficiency to position the combined entity for future growth and scalability. Prior to founding Synergis Education, Norm held key leadership roles, including Chief Operations Officer at Orbis Education, Senior Vice President of Strategic Development at the Institute for Professional Development (IPD), a Division of Apollo Group, and as an Educational Liaison at Target Corporation, culminating in the launch of the first-ever MS in Criminal Justice at Michigan State University, a program recognized for excellence and innovation. Norm served in the US Army, both active and reserve, for nine years, achieving the rank of Sergeant and fulfilling duties as a Military Police Officer.
