With over 10 years of experience in federal education policy, Michael Itzkowitz has served in senior roles inside and outside of government. His work focuses on developing accountability metrics that produce better outcomes for postsecondary students and a more effective and efficient use of taxpayer dollars. He currently serves as the Founder and President of the Higher Education Advisory Group (the HEA Group) and is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at Public Agenda. Prior to these roles, Michael worked as a Presidential Appointee in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Department of Education, assuming a number of roles in K-12 and higher education. Most notably, he was the Director of the Administration's College Scorecard, an initiative focused on higher education transparency and accountability. He’s often cited as a resource by those in Congress and is featured in national news outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and NBC News.
