Mai Chou Vang

Mai Chou brings 10 years of experience working on evaluation, research, and technical assistance projects in the field of education. At Digital Promise, she employs both qualitative and quantitative methods to study the implementation and impact of K–12 initiatives, including instructional coaching and mentoring, argumentative writing in middle school, and early literacy, among others. In her work, she focuses on centering educator voice to inform the continuous improvement of K–12 initiatives; she hopes to center student voice more in her future work. Mai Chou’s experiences as a low-come, first-generation college student fueled her interest and passion to use research to create educational equity for students, especially those at the margins. Mai Chou earned an MA in Education Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in Architecture (with a minor in education) from UC Berkeley.
