Lynn Moody

Vice President of Innovation

SparkNC

Dr. Lynn Moody is best known for her passion for transforming education. She has been a school superintendent for the past 15 years in two school districts; Rock Hill Schools, South Carolina and Rowan-Salisbury School, North Carolina. While in Rock Hill School District, she led the school district in a 1 to1 digital conversion over 10 years ago. During her tenure in Rowan-Salisbury School District, she was able to obtain the only renewal status in North Carolina from the General Assembly which granted charter-like flexibility for finance, curriculum and personnel. She later obtained a $26M federal grant to support the renewal change process. In March 2021, she helped create a concept for SparkNC, a new North Carolina High-Tech Learning Accelerator. The Accelerator is a revolutionary effort to help our learners engage with high-tech fields like artificial intelligence and machine learning, software development, computer systems engineering, and cybersecurity. SparkNC is a completely new way to do school: learner-centered, industry-relevant, and competency-based. Lynn absolutely loves working with SparkNC and believes it is a great model for a true learner-centered high school experience. Lynn is North Carolina State University Wolfpack alumni and fan. She resides in Kure Beach, NC with her husband Wayne.
