Dr. Lin Johnson III is a Senior Advisor to Maycomb Capital, leading the Firm’s Education Resource Impact Fund efforts. Lin has spent his career expanding equitable access to educational resources and improving academic learning.Prior to Maycomb, Lin served as the Deputy Superintendent at Shelby County Schools in Memphis, Tennessee. He improved learning outcomes by funding the district’s adoption of high-quality math and reading curricula, the expansion of early learning opportunities, and the increase of career- and college-ready opportunities. Previously, Lin was a Program Officer at the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, where he managed a grant portfolio of charter schools, parent empowerment organizations, and education enablers and innovators. Lin has deep PreK-12 education experience in the state, district, philanthropic, and private sectors.He holds a BA in Economics from Reed College, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from MIT Sloan, and a Doctor in Education Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He served as the Board Chair for Mosaic Changemakers, an organization that brings leaders of color in the South together and harnesses their power for transformative change.
