Dr. Lillie Moffett is a Society for Research in Child Development State Policy Fellow working at the California Department of Education (CDE) Opportunities for All Branch.

Dr. Moffett received her PhD in Education & Psychology from the University of Michigan where she focused on prekindergarten curriculum, assessment, and alignment to 3rd grade- with an emphasis on math and executive functioning skills.

As a current fellow at the CDE she is involved in several initiatives including the implementation of Universal Transitional Kindergarten in California, leading a UPK Research Design team which brings California researchers and policymakers together, co-leading revisions of the California early learning standards, distributing guidance to districts on early childhood curriculum, co-leading updates to California’s assessment for preschool and kindergarten, as well as beginning work on the extension of this assessment to 3rd grade for social-emotional and executive functioning skills.
