Karen Molinar is the Deputy Superintendent for Fort Worth Independent School District. Karen supervises the Superintendent’s Leadership Team on district wide initiatives while overseeing the Department of Policy & Planning that includes Board Services. Prior to taking this role she was in the role of Chief of Staff supporting the Superintendent’s Leadership Team and leading special projects. Karen’s experience ranges across the FWISD system. She was responsible for working with seven Executive Leadership Directors to support 83 campuses to increase student achievement and build leadership capacity through the daily coaching and monitoring of campus principals. Her vast experiences provided her with the leadership capacity to coach and supervise campus principals and directors to increase student achievement and prepare all students for college, career and community leadership. She has served the community of Fort Worth Independent School District for over 21 years. Karen’s prior experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Leadership Director and campus principal at Oakhurst Elementary bestowed upon her the importance of relationships between all stakeholders to achieve success for our students. She previously served four years as an assistant principal for FWISD at two elementary campuses and for one year in Wilmington, DE. Karen’s career in education began as an elementary teacher at Washington Heights, on the North Side of Fort Worth. Karen’s passion for elementary education with a focus on early childhood and literacy was cultivated as she obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development, Bachelors of Education Degree from Salisbury State University in Maryland and a Master of Education Administration from Tarleton State University.
