Gil Leal

Gil Leal is a first-year student at UCLA studying for a B.S. in Environmental Science. From Gardena, California, he graduated from San Pedro High School in 2020 where he participated in the Marine Science learning community and excelled in AP environmental science taught with a project-based learning approach. A first-generation college student, Gil enjoys trying new food spots, hiking, and spending time in the city with friends. For the last three years he participated in a mock legislature and court with the YMCA where he brought forth bills regarding environmental justice in the CA state capitol chambers.
