Gaurav Goel is the Founder & CEO of Samagra, a mission-driven governance consulting firm. He holds a dual degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Delhi & an MBA from IIM Calcutta. Post MBA, he worked as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Co., across sectors & geographies, solving diverse corporate problem statements. With a vision to work towards improving lives of citizens by engaging with the governance process, in 2012, he set up Samagra so that he could translate his passion into reality & create impact at scale.Gaurav is a TEDx speaker, writer & his path-breaking efforts to tackle intractable governance challenges led him to be recognized in BusinessWorld’s 40 Under 40 list of changemakers in India.At Samagra, he has been enabling multiple population-scale education reforms across Uttar Pradesh (UP), Haryana, Himachal & Andhra Pradesh. The current efforts include NIPUN Bharat-UP & Saksham Haryana. With 1.1L primary schools & 1Cr students, UP was the first state to start a statewide mission focused on Foundational Literacy & Numeracy, which informed the design of the National NIPUN program. Through Saksham Haryana’s concerted efforts & unique gamification of learning outcomes over a 3-year period, Haryana ranked in the top 5 States in all subjects across Grades 8 & 10 in National Achievement Survey 2021. Today, Saksham Haryana is driving EdTech at scale through a tablet-based learning program for Grades 10-12, working with 90k teachers & 22L students.
