Dr. Emily Schindler, Ph.D, studies teachers-as-learners in formal and informal learning environments, including makerspaces, classrooms, and other places where people learn to teach. Prior to receiving her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Education (Curriculum and Instruction- Design, Informal, and Creative Education research area), Dr. Schindler was a K-12 Literacy Specialist and English teacher in Minneapolis, MN, where she engaged a number digital tools to enhance project-based literacy learning, and offered professional development and literacy coaching to other staff. Dr. Schindler lives in Irvine, CA, with her two kids, her partner, one dog, and a guinea pig.
