Emily Esparza is a native Silicon Valley Latina, a first-generation college graduate, and an early advocate for educational equity and culturally rich programs essential in building thriving cultures of belonging and success.  Her social justice advocacy lens extends to equity analysis, disaggregated data practices, values creation, expanded accountability, and community partnerships.

Emily currently serves as Vice President of Communications and Partnerships with the Office of Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at National University. A few of her Key Highlights include the 2022 NAACP Innovation Education Award, 2020 Global Impact Award, 2019 Gold Talent Acquisition Award, and Silicon Valley Inroads Outstanding Mentor Nominee, San Jose KNTV Hispanic Advisory Board, and Chairperson to the Inaugural Hispanic San Jose State Student Day.

Emily is a member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality, Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley.

Emily holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and Foreign Languages from San Jose State University, certifications in We all Count-Data Equity Framework, CAST-Universal Design Learning, and NADOHE-Standards of Professional Practice for Chief Diversity Officers in Higher Education, and pursuing graduate studies in Transformational Leadership.
