Dr. Denise Maduli-Williams brings over two decades of rich experience in English and ESOL education across diverse settings, from California prisons to villages in Botswana as a Peace Corps Volunteer, and from New York City public high schools to community colleges in Chicago, San Francisco, and San Diego. Currently, an Associate Professor of English and ESOL at San Diego Miramar College, she enjoys teaching students through online, hybrid, and in-person modalities. Denise earned an M.A. in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the joint doctoral program at the University of California San Diego and California State University San Marcos, where her research explored the dynamics of connection and social presence for students of color in online community college courses. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom through leadership roles aimed at enhancing online learning and accessibility. Denise champions accessible, equitable, and humanized online learning environments, firmly believing in the power of technology, digital innovation, and AI to transform educational experiences and foster success for all students.
