Deborah Peek-Brown is the Academic Outreach Specialist for the Create for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. Deborah began her career as a science educator in Detroit Public Schools where she taught, supported teachers, developed curriculum materials and planned district-wide professional learning for twenty-eight years. She is currently part of science K-12 curriculum development teams with expertise in project-based science, science literacy, and in planning comprehensive professional learning programs. Deborah received the 2018 George G. Mallinson Award from the Michigan Science Teachers’ Association for overall excellence of contributions to science education and has presented at local, national and international education conferences.
