Corey Morrison

Director of Mathematics

Corey Morrison is the new Director of Mathematics for Chicago Public Schools, where he will lead the math office within the department of STEM.

Mr. Morrison has served as a math teacher, department chair, and most recently, the assistant principal of Kenwood Academy where he oversaw the math and science departments. Throughout his 12-year career, he has championed creative ways to provide access and opportunities for all students to achieve advanced levels of mathematics. With a passion for helping all students and teachers find their math identity, he is committed to expanding the love of mathematics across the district.  

Mr. Morrison views himself as a passionate educator that believes in the power of a holistic education so students can find their passions and pursue their dreams. His work at Kenwood to develop the potential of each student using a combination of academics, sports, and arts as pathways as well as his belief on building on past strengths should serve him well in his new role.

Mr. Morrison holds a Bachelor’s degree in Math Theory and a Master's in Math Education and is a general math enthusiast looking for opportunities to bring unique math experiences to students across CPS. He is currently working to finish his EdD in Urban Education Leadership at UIC. He is excited to continue building on the ground-breaking work that his predecessors have started here in CPS.
