Dr. Babak Mostaghimi is an educator and education systems innovator who recently joined LearnerStudio as a Founding Partner. Babak previously served as an Assistant Superintendent in Gwinnett County Public Schools where he led critical initiatives including the creation of a community ecosystem for birth to age 5 early learning, the development of a PK-12 Artificial Intelligence and future readiness embedded learning model, and the execution of GCPS’ continuous quality improvement strategy. He began his education career as a 5th-grade teacher in Shelby, Mississippi, where he was the 2008 District Teacher of the Year. Babak serves on numerous boards including as the Board Chair for Project Invent, a national non-profit providing design thinking and invention programs to empower every student as an innovator, and as a Vice President on the Executive Board for the Northeast Georgia Council, BSA, where he supports youth in becoming prepared for their future. Babak holds a Doctorate in Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard and a Bachelor’s Degree from Johns Hopkins. He lives in Georgia with his wife and two children.
