Ashutosh Tiwary

Ashutosh is an entrepreneur, innovator, and curious learner. After spending 30 years in the tech industry building technologies and businesses, he came to WGU as an education industry outsider to learn about this incredibly important field and to have the opportunity to impact the lives of thousands of students. At WGU, he leads the College of Information Technology as its first Senior Vice President and Executive Dean and is responsible for all aspects of learning for over 30,000 degree seeking student.His professional experience spans CEO, General Manager, and SVP roles across the IT Industry, including at Microsoft, AWS, and Teradata. While he has had many different professional experiences throughout his career, his passion is disentangling complex customer and scale problems while developing unique technical and business solutions. After founding, building, and selling two tech start-ups, creating and running a product unit at Microsoft, leading a set of cloud services at AWS, and building the cloud for Teradata, Ashutosh has developed an interest in cancer research and is also helping build a startup to join the fight in the cure for cancer. Ashutosh earned his B.S (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from BITS Pilani in India, a M.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and is an ABD Ph.D. candidate at the University of Washington in Computer Science with a focus on Operating Systems, Database Systems, and Performance Evaluation
