Amber Melander is a passionate educator dedicated to fostering a love for learning in her students. With over a decade of experience in the field of education, Amber has honed her skills in creating engaging and effective learning environments that integrate technology in a meaningful way. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently working towards her Master's Degree in STEM education. Throughout her career, Amber has taught a diverse range of students, from elementary to middle school levels in three different states. Her teaching philosophy centers around self-directed learning, differentiation, and fostering critical thinking skills. She believes in creating a supportive and inclusive school environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. This includes creating, sponsoring, and supporting several robotics and coding clubs for students ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to her classroom teaching, Amber is actively involved in curriculum development and educational leadership initiatives. She has led professional development workshops for fellow educators and served on curriculum curating committees including helping to create a new curriculum for elementary school computer science. She also serves as the AI specialist for her elementary school and is an advocate for teaching the thinking skills students will need to be AI and future-ready.
