Alison O'Connor

Alison O'Connor currently serves as Director of Elementary Instruction in the Fontana Unified School District which serves over 35,000 students within 30 elementary schools. Prior to this position, Alison was as an elementary principal and classroom teacher. She is a passionate educator and student advocate committed to developing and strengthening equitable systems that provide all students with meaningful, challenging, and affirming learning experiences.To ensure all students are reading by the end of third grade, Alison developed a partnership with Learning Ovations (or would it be better to say Digital Promise)? and transformed Literacy instruction in in Fontana for Kindergarten through third grade students. Teachers use the A2i system as a starting point to shift from whole group to small group, differentiated, literacy instruction at 20 sites in all K-3 classrooms.
