Alan Cheng is the proud superintendent for 49 NYC high schools. His district includes schools in the Consortium, the Internationals Network, and NYC Outward Bound. Prior to joining the district, he was the principal of City-As-School High School, a transfer school in Manhattan. Alan has a doctorate from Teachers College in adult development and education leadership.
Before joining City-As-School, he was an Education Policy Fellow for the US Senate Health Education Labor and Pension Committee. He has also worked as a Curriculum Fellow at the Judge School of Management at Cambridge University and a Research Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
