Ada Woo

As chief of staff and senior director of Assessment Sciences at Ascend Learning, Dr. Ada Woo leads teams of researchers, psychometricians, test developers, and operations experts. Together, they ensures that all components of Ascend’s assessment services are efficiently integrated and executed. Dr. Woo has nearly two decades of experience in the assessment industry. Before joining Ascend, she was chief of staff of the ACTNext R&D and innovation unit at ACT, Inc. As an active member of the edtech community, Ada severs on multiple advisory groups, including the Iowa Innovation Council and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards technical advisory group, among others.Ada holds a PhD in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research interests include personalized learning, technology-enhanced assessments, and measurement of 21st century skills.
