How States Are Addressing Teacher Shortages

This interactive session focused on teacher shortages will allow attendees to not only hear from national education leaders, but also strategize to address issues around teacher recruitment and retention. Attendees will get time to brainstorm solutions to these challenges, then share their ideas with our national experts and get instant feedback. Attendees will hear from State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, State Superintendent Lisa Coons of the Virginia Department of Education and Sharif El-Mekki, Founder of the Center for Black Educator Development. This session will be hosted by David Donaldson of the National Center for Grow Your Own. Please attend and participate if you are passionate about creative solutions to address teacher shortages and have the opportunity to directly interact with state superintendents and national leaders who are dealing with these issues every day.
