Barbara Cooper (Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education), Rhian Allvin (National Association for the Education of Young Children), Jane Swift (LearnLaunch), and Diana Rauner (Start Early) discuss Meeting the Moment: The Economic Imperative of Early Childhood Education A.D. (Finally!) At the 2021 ASU+GSV Summit.April 28, President Biden announced the American Families Plan, a first-of-its-kind investment in U.S. children, families, and our economic future. This Rescue Plan is projected to lift more than five million children out of poverty this year, cutting child poverty by more than half. This extraordinary panel will debate the merits of such legislation as a catalyst to creating equal opportunity for all. At this watershed moment for early childhood, the mandate to transform early education to give all children equal access has never been more urgent.
