Leading Educator Panel: Personalized Learning: A Trojan Horse for Tech?

As schools across the country adopt new models to individualize learning, personalized learning has become the buzzword du jour, used by educators to describe shifts in their pedagogical practice, by edtech to advocate for their tools, and by skeptics to describe "corporate takeovers" of schools. The term has become a placeholder in education debates, often used but rarely understood.  This panel will discuss what personalized learning really is, how implementation practices can bolster or hinder it, and whether personalization is possible without edtech.

Moderator: Ben Wallerstein, CEO, Whiteboard Advisors

Panelists: Richard Culatta, CEO, ISTE; Phyllis Lockett, CEO, LEAP Innovations; Matthew Mugo-Fields, Executive VP & GM of Supplemental and Intervention Solutions, Houghton Mifflin Harcout; Keith Whitescarver, Executive Director, National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector
