Enabling Technologies for the Future of Education

Wiley SVP Academic Learning Smita Bakshi, Cambridge University Press Commercial Director Chris Bennett, Mastercard Foundation Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning in ICT Director Joseph Nsengimana, and ASU Chief Innovation Officer of EdPlus Bethany Weigele discuss enabling technologies for the future of education at the 2023 ASU+GSV Summit.

Spreading the opportunity to learn increased rapidly 500 years ago with the invention of the printing press, educations first enabling technology. Now in the internet age, a variety of technologies, such as adaptive courseware and intelligent tutoring, are at the forefront of not only scaling access to higher education, but also improving the quality of education received by people around the world. The panel will discuss where those technologies are most critical and how, if designed well, have the potential to improve equitable outcomes where other interventions have failed.
