Michelle Zimmerman, author of “Teaching AI: Exploring New Frontiers for Learning” (published in 5 languages) and founder of Genesis Project AI, holds a PhD in Learning Sciences and Human Development with an emphasis in Neuroscience from the University of Washington, College of Education. She has over 15 years of teaching experience (PreK-10th), conducting and implementing original research at the intersection of technology and socio-cultural perspectives. Her students gained international recognition through global Showcase school visits and co-presenting with Gen Z perspectives on AI and edtech. She led a COVID response plan from policy to practice, collaborating with world-renowned researchers, epidemiologists, and frontline healthcare workers. In 2021, she was recognized as ISTE Visionary Leader, and began an experiential investigation of healthcare, technology, and education, leading to a forthcoming medically peer-reviewed book. Advisory boards for Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Washington, College of Education, and adjunct at Concordia University extend expertise beyond the classroom. She is published in various highly respected series and press, and has collaborated with industry leaders from Pixar to Lockheed Martin. Selected as a Microsoft MVP for 9 consecutive years for her global impact, she has briefed Satya Nadella and his executive team.
