Gilbert has a broad range of strategy and leadership expertise, gained through roles in high technology, public education governance, and nonprofit strategic planning. Since 2014, Gilbert has served as a trustee for the Hillsborough City School District in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a focus on strategy, leadership, and governance. He has also served on the boards of three nonprofit education foundations supporting diverse K-8 through university student populations. Gilbert is Co-Founder of Living Strategy, Inc., a science-backed, AI-powered, employee engagement platform for K-13 teachers and staff. Prior to Living Strategy, he had over ten years of executive product leadership experience at high growth startups backed by Mayfield, Sutter Hill, Trinity Ventures, and Greylock. Of these startups, two completed IPOs and one was acquired by Agilent Technologies. His leadership positions have included VP of Engineering, VP of Product Marketing, and Head of Products. Gilbert received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from UC Berkeley and completed the Stanford Business School Executive Management Program.
