Chris Ernst is SVP Talent & Chief Learning Officer at Workday, the leading Fortune 500 AI platform for HR and Finance. He’s responsible for leading Workday’s talent strategy, including talent management, leadership effectiveness, learning and development, and pioneering the use of Workday’s technology internally.

Before joining Workday, Chris served as the global head of people and organization potential at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Chris also served as vice president of organization effectiveness at Juniper Networks and spent the first fifteen years of his career as a leadership researcher and advisor to organizations around the world at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL).

With a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Chris’ thought leadership is published in top academic journals and outlets such as HBR, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Fast Company, and in authoring three books, including Boundary Spanning Leadership: Six Practices for Solving Problems, Driving Innovation, and Transforming Organizations.
