Jay DeMerit (RISExSHINE) Interview at the 2023 ASU+GSV Summit

At the 2023 ASU+GSV Summit, GSV’s Kevin Zhang spoke with Jay DeMerit, former USMNT World Cup soccer player, Premier League & MLS Captain, and Founder of RISExSHINE. In this conversation Jay shares his upbringing in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was surrounded by educators who challenged him to be better every day in a supportive and safe way. He talks about how she had to work hard to become a good soccer player, which led him to pursue education and get a degree in industrial design. Despite playing in the premier league and captaining MLS, Jay’s passion for education remained constant throughout his life.
