Tanya Wright, Ed. M is a two-time SAG Award winner (Best Ensemble) for her portrayal of Crystal Burset in Orange is the New Black. Tanya received her master's in Learning Design, Innovation and Technology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While there, Tanya won the Harvard Innovative Venture in Education (HIVE) Award and the Education Entrepreneurship Fellowship for Hairiette of Harlem. Hairiette of Harlem is a literacy-focused education company that centers the story of 7 year old Hairiette, an imaginative gal who lives in Harlem with her blended family. The first 3 Hairiette books will debut in Target stores in September 2024.Goodnight, Hairiette is a 24 minute puppet musical that tells the story of Hairiette's sleepless night as she wanders into her grandmother's room (Nana Grace!) for a bedtime story. What unfolds is a timeless tale full of surprises about courage, community and the power and belief in being yourself. The musical is accompanied by a picture book and includes a digital reading program perfect for family engagement/literacy initiatives.
