Dr. Sherri N. Wilson is a transformational leader at the forefront of ethical artificial intelligence and digital innovation in K–12 education. As Director of Innovative Learning for Broward County Public School- the sixth-largest and one of the most diverse school districts in the nation-she leads systemwide initiatives that strategically align technology, policy, and pedagogy to prepare students for an AI-driven world. A future-ready systems leader, Dr. Wilson has served as assistant principal, principal, and director-bridging instructional leadership with enterprise-level strategy. Her leadership ensures innovation is visionary, sustainable, and operationally sound, while remaining grounded in the human-centered foundation of teaching and learning. She brings a comprehensive systems perspective that connects classroom practice to districtwide implementation at scale. In 2024, Dr. Wilson spearheaded the district’s Artificial Intelligence Task Force, establishing a comprehensive governance framework addressing ethics, cybersecurity, procurement, professional learning, and policy alignment-ensuring AI enhances rather than replaces the instructional relationships at the heart of education. In 2025, she expanded this work by developing and facilitating a districtwide network of AI Liaisons embedded across schools to build site-based capacity and ensure consistent, responsible implementation on every campus. Dr. Wilson drives culture change through Principal-Level AI Academies, Parent Universities, podcasts, and the Powerful Parent and Technology initiatives-elevating educator and community voice in digital transformation. Her virtual Teen T.I.E.S. and AI program empowers students as thought partners in shaping districtwide AI implementation, engaging them in meaningful dialogue around ethics, academic integrity, and emerging career pathways. The annual T.I.E.S. Expo, launched in 2024 and now entering its third year, convenes educators, students, and industry leaders-including Microsoft, Khan Academy, MagicSchool, Adobe Apple and Promethean-for fireside chats and collaborative learning focused on scalable, ethical innovation in education. Through the strategic implementation of Reading Progress via Microsoft, Dr. Wilson translated innovation into measurable student success. By providing targeted support to School Transformation Office (STO) schools, Students with Disabilities (SWD), and academically fragile learners, she expanded equitable access to impactful literacy practices-resulting in growth rates comparable to their peers. Dr. Wilson’s leadership ensures technology integration is guided by sound governance, informed by research-based pedagogy, and executed with integrity. She is not only preparing students to navigate the future-she is equipping them to lead it.
