Shay Scott

Shay Scott, PhD serves as vice dean and chief operating officer for Digital Learning at the University of Tennessee. In this capacity, Scott leads the operations and works in tandem with the dean and CEO to guide the organization. Digital Learning at UT exists to advance the University of Tennessee in its educational mission through the employment of innovative strategies to serve learners.
Scott also serves as a professor of practice in the Department of Supply Chain Management in UT’s Haslam College of Business where he previously led UTK’s Global Supply Chain Institute, often regarded as the top university center of this type nationally. Prior to joining the academy, Scott led the Americas International Logistics organization at Dell. His teams there earned prominence and global recognition with their innovative approaches, including a U.S. patent.
Since 2014, Scott has also been a visiting faculty member at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien).
