Mohammed Al Ani

Assistant Professor

San Diego Community College District (San Diego City College)

I am an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at San Diego City College. My mission is to empower students through practical knowledge and innovative teaching. I regularly teach Business Statistics, Business Communication, Personal Financial Management and Small Business Management. I have previously taught Small Business Planning (Entrepreneurship) in a previous teaching role. Before teaching, I worked as a Business Counselor/Advisor at one of the Small Business Development Centers in San Diego. I helped clients start and grow their businesses on a daily basis for 5 years (Business plans, licensing and permitting, access to financing and financial education and even applying to Covid Aid). In addition to teaching courses in Business Administration, I regularly deliver talks on financial literacy. In my classrooms (especially in my Business Communication courses), I integrate generative artificial intelligence tools to enhance learning, communication, and critical thinking. In addition to my teaching role, I serve as an Innovation & Emerging Technology Faculty Specialist at the San Diego Community College District Office. In this capacity, I support in exploring the impact of AI on education, fostering faculty and staff engagement in conversations about AI and communicating the results. My work bridges academic duties, technological innovation, and community impact to empower my students.
