Professor Majd Sakr is Chief Learning & Research Officer of Accenture and Accenture LearnVantage, where he leads the company’s comprehensive learning and training services to help organizations adapt their workforce for the age of AI through upskilling and reskilling. He brings extensive expertise in workforce training and technology-enhanced learning to help the company deepen thought leadership in learning and development, grow capabilities and ecosystem partnership, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation. At Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science, Majd is a Teaching Professor and former co-director of the Master of Computational Data Science (MCDS) Program. Previously, he served at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (2007-2013) as Assistant Dean for Research and Computer Science Program Coordinator. There, he founded the Cloud Computing Lab, co-founded the Qri8 Qatar Robotics Innovation Lab, and helped establish the Qatar Cloud Computing Center. He has held appointments at the American University of Science and Technology in Beirut and at the NEC Research Institute in Princeton, New Jersey. His research interests include online education, cloud computing, and human-robot interaction. He holds a BS, MS, and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
