Dr Kate Erricker is the Group Head of Education Research and Global Partnerships at Nord Anglia Education, a leading international schools organisation with over 80,000 students in 80+ schools across more than 30 countries. Kate leads The Metacognition Project, a two-year research study launched in 2023 with Boston College, involving 27 Nord Anglia schools in 17 countries. The project explores how EdTech can track and develop essential skills not previously assessed—such as creativity, curiosity and compassion—ensuring students are equipped for success beyond traditional academics. Working closely with teachers and school leaders, Kate and her research team are pioneering new ways to assess and strengthen the thinking processes that drive lifelong learning. Before taking on this role, Kate was Assistant Director of Curriculum at Nord Anglia in Hong Kong, where she developed an innovative teacher training programme for international and local educators. She also worked as a school improvement advisor for Hampshire Local Authority, leading initiatives to improve student outcomes across schools in the UK. Kate has over 20 years of experience in education and holds a Master’s and PhD in Education, specialising in teacher professional development. Her work continues to shape the future of education, ensuring that Nord Anglia’s students benefit from cutting-edge research, transformative teaching practices, and the power of EdTech to make learning visible.
