Julia Hieser

Julia is the Vice President of Content & Community on the ASU+GSV Summit team. She has spent the last 16 years committed to pursuing education equity, first as a high school English teacher in Durham, NC, and then on staff at Teach For America. While at TFA she coached teachers, helped launch a regional site in Boston while leading the region’s program and teacher coaching, and spent several years coaching executive directors around the country to build their program teams. Julia also helped define and lead a national group learning and community cultivation experience. Most recently, Julia led employee experience and engagement work at Teach For America, creating community-based learning cohorts, leading a staff listening initiative, and engaging staff and stakeholders in various feedback projects. Julia is SHRM-SCP Certified, earned her teaching certificate from East Carolina University, and her B.A from Augustana College.
