Jean Eddy is the President and CEO of American Student Assistance® (ASA), leading the organization’s mission to transform how kids learn about careers and prepare for their futures through equitable access to career readiness experiences. A senior executive with over 30 years of experience, Eddy has a deep commitment to student success. Before becoming CEO, she served on ASA’s Board for 20 years. Her career includes leadership roles in higher education, such as Chief Operating Officer at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Senior Vice President for Students and Enrollment at Brandeis University. She is the author of Crisis-Proofing Today's Learners (Rowman & Littlefield, 2023), which explores career readiness and the skills young people need for future success. The book, honored with an Anthem Award, advocates for reimagining education to better prepare students for evolving career paths. A nationally recognized expert, Eddy has contributed to NBC/Today, U.S. News & World Report, The New York Times, USA Today, Fortune, and Forbes.com. She has held leadership roles with the College Board, NASFAA, NACAC, and AICAD and served on Governor Charlie Baker’s Commission on Digital Innovation and Lifelong Learning. She earned her bachelor’s from Roger Williams University and a master’s from Johnson & Wales University.
