Jasmine Maze is a Senior Managing Director, Senior Designer at The Reinvention Lab @ Teach for America. Based out of Oakland, CA, she has worked with over 30 diverse educational institutions, from K-12 schools, higher education and research institutions to educational technology startups. Her perspective blends art, technology, community, and learning. She is committed to reinventing education and driving equity and innovation in the field.Her journey as an educator began as a Teach for America corps member teaching Spanish and challenging students to identify and defeat opportunity gaps. She later returned to her Ohio hometown to coach schools most in need of support and to conduct school quality reviews. She became the principal of the Cleveland High School for Digital Arts, where the team improved the school's report card from an F to a C using arts-integration, community connections, competency and project-based learning. It earned a Momentum Award for exceeding expectations in student growth. In 2022, she joined an Edtech non-profit as a C-Suite executive to leverage her skills in curriculum and instruction, research, team development, strategy, and to design impactful, engaging, honest, and accessible learning activations. She insists communities, educators and students are designers; not simply consumers. Jasmine holds a B.A. from The George Washington University in international affairs and economics and a M.S.Ed in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
